On Gas Desorption-Diffusion Regularity of Bituminous Coal with Different Particle Sizes and Its Influence on Outburst-Coal Breaking

Coal and gas outburst is an urgent constantly perplexing problem with coal resource extraction, threatening mine safe sustainable production severely. Its mechanism the participation of in breaking are still unclear. To explore this problem, paper, desorption-diffusion regularity bituminous different particle sizes its influence on outburst-coal were investigated through mercury intrusion porosimetry (MIP) tests, isothermal adsorption tests for particles sizes. The results indicated that cumulative diffusion amount (Qt) rate (Qt/Q∞), effective coefficient (D′), kinetic parameter (υ) decreased as size increased. That meant was easier to desorb diffuse from smaller blocks, consequently making break into more tiny accelerating desorption. As a result, positive feedback effect breaks continuously releases rapidly abundantly formed short time when outbursts started, which caused release quantities promoted occurrence outbursts. findings study enhance our understanding participating fragmentation during outbursts, significantly conducive prevention control disasters resources.
